Welcome to St. Chrysostom’s
On behalf of St. Chrysostom’s Episcopal Church, greetings in the name of Christ!
St. Chrysostom’s is an Episcopal (Anglican) church in the Wollaston neighborhood of Quincy, worshiping God in Christ since 1892. We are located across the Neponset River and a few miles south of Boston.
We are a Christian community rooted in faith, formed by worship, and serving our neighborhood. Our church family is called and empowered by the grace of God to be a witness to the life and the love of Jesus Christ.
We strive to answer the call of God by prayer and worship, proclaiming the gospel through word and deed, and promoting the justice, peace, and love of Christ. We invite you to join us!
In Christ with Joy,
The Reverend Christopher Capaldo, Rector
Sundays at 10:00am: Holy Communion
At the celebration of Holy Communion, we give thanks for Jesus’ gift of himself as spiritual and sacramental refreshment. The Eucharist is structured around the actions of taking, blessing, breaking, and sharing the gifts of bread and wine, taken in faith as the body and blood of Christ. Many portions of the service are said by the clergy and congregation, along with hymns led by the organist and church choir. Selections from both the long choral tradition of the Anglican Church and more contemporary hymnody are featured. Rite II is the more modern form of the service, while Rite I is the more traditional style.
*Sunday School 1st Sunday of the Month during service.
Wednesdays at 9:00am: Holy Communion - Healing & Anointing
On Wednesday mornings, we offer a service of Holy Communion, Healing Prayer, and Anointing with Oil. During this service, prayers are offered for those who need healing of mind, body, or soul, and an opportunity to have laying on of hands, prayer, and unction (Anointing with Oil) is given. There is then a quick communion service, with no music or sermon. The service lasts around 40 minutes.
1st Saturdays at 1:00am: Recovery Eucharist
On the first Saturday of the month, we have a special Eucharist for those in Recovery Groups. We base this service off of the 12 steps. It begins at 1:00pm in the chapel, and is designed to end in time for the 2:00 Saturday Miracles group.
