Every Sunday we gather for worship: offering our praise to God, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus, and rejoicing together in fellowship. We invite you to join us.

About the Liturgy

Our liturgy (order for worship) is taken from The Book of Common Prayer. We join Episcopal churches across the country - and the wider Anglican Communion around the globe - who share this common thread, linking us with each other and with our historic Christian faith. Week by week, season by season, and year by year we follow the rhythms of scripture and prayer.

There’s an old Latin phrase: lex orandi, lex credendi. Another way of saying it is: praying shapes believing. This phrase is often applied to the Episcopal Church. We receive the ancient liturgy as a gift, recognizing that God's Spirit has been alive and working throughout Church history, and allowing ourselves to be formed by the prayers and readings that have shaped Christian identity for centuries.

About Sunday Worship

Our Sunday worship is therefore: Biblical, including readings from the Old and New Testaments and the Psalms; Creedal, reciting the Nicene or Apostles’ Creed as the statement of Christian identity; Sacramental, as we follow our Lord’s command to celebrate Holy Communion “in remembrance of me”.

Sundays at 10:00am: Holy Communion

At the celebration of Holy Communion, we give thanks for Jesus’ gift of himself as spiritual and sacramental refreshment. The Eucharist is structured around the actions of taking, blessing, breaking, and sharing the gifts of bread and wine, taken in faith as the body and blood of Christ. Many portions of the service are said by the clergy and congregation, along with hymns led by the organist and church choir. Selections from both the long choral tradition of the Anglican Church and more contemporary hymnody are featured. Rite II is the more modern form of the service, while Rite I is the more traditional style.

Wednesdays at 9:00am: Holy Communion - Healing & Anointing

On Wednesday mornings, we offer a service of Holy Communion, Healing Prayer, and Anointing with Oil. During this service, prayers are offered for those who need healing of mind, body, or soul, and an opportunity to have laying on of hands, prayer, and unction (Anointing with Oil) is given. There is then a quick communion service, with no music or sermon. The service lasts around 30 minutes.

Morning Prayer

Occasionally during the year, we will have a service of Morning Prayer instead of Holy Communion. This worship service is one of the oldest services of the Anglican tradition, combining scripture, prayer, hymns, canticles, anthems, and a sermon. As with Holy Communion, singing is led by the organist and choir, with selections from both the historic choral tradition of the Anglican Church and more contemporary hymns.

ALMIGHTY God, who hast given us grace at this time with one accord to make our common supplications unto thee; and dost promise that when two or three are gathered together in thy Name thou wilt grant their requests; Fulfil now, O Lord, the desires and petitions of thy servants, as may be most expedient for them; granting us in this world knowledge of thy truth, and in the world to come life everlasting. Amen.
— Prayer of St. Chrysostom, our patron saint, taken from The Book of Common Prayer
